IMIHEP Award 2011
Another year, another great opportunity for a member of HeSCA to attend the IMI Annual
Conference in the UK – entries for the IMIHEP Award are now being accepted! The successful candidate of this fabulous award will receive:
• Full registration at the conference
• Two nights accommodation
• A travel award with a value of up to $1000!
The IMI conference, on October 5 – 8 this year, has a jam‐packed schedule including:
• A Keynote address and 2‐day scientific program
• A full day of Workshops
• An extensive Trade Show
• Annual Banquet and Awards Dinner
If you would like to be considered for this Exchange Program, complete this application form and send to Jim Huff (jim.huff@ucdenver.edu), no later than August 12, 2011. The HeSCA Board of Directors will select the winning entry and the successful applicant will be informed by August 19, 2011.

IMI 44th Annual Conference, 5th-8th October 2011
The Institute of Medical Illustrators 44th Annual Conference will be held on October 5-8, 2011 at the Devere Hotel & Conference Centre, Theobalds Park, Cheshunt.
Half an hour from London and set in 55 acres of parkland, Theobalds Park combines the luxury of a Georgian mansion with the facilities of a modern conference centre. The accommodation is excellent, with 149 elegantly furnished en-suite rooms.
The conference programme runs from Thursday morning through to Saturday lunchtime and includes plenary and concurrent presentations on Thursday and Saturday, with a full programme of workshops and a trade show on the Friday.
The social programme includes a fun auction on the Thursday night plus additional entertainment and the annual banquet on the Friday night, followed by music and dancing in the beautifully-restored Ridings Barn.

Congratulations to Ray Aldrete and Lindsey Searle (seated), the 2010 IMI/HeSCA Exchange winners at the recent IMI meeting in Crewe, England. They are surrounded by delegates who have attended past HeSCA meetings.

IMI/HeSCA Exchange Award Recipient Announced
The Institute of Medical Illustrators (IMI) has announced that this year’s winner of the IMI/HeSCA exchange award is Lynsey Searle. Lynsey works as a clinical photographer at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesborough.
The award will pay for Lynsey to attend the Revolutionary Ideas in BioCommunications conference in Boston, MA from 2-6 June. The award includes flights and accommodation – a fantastic prize worth over £1000. Well done Lynsey, we look forward to meeting you!
IMI / HeSCA Exchange Program Awarded to Jim Huff
Jim Huff from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center has been awarded the IMI Exchange grant and will represent HeSCA at the IMI Annual Conference on September 17-19, at the Westerwood Hotel, Cumbernauld, near Glasgow, Scotland, UK.
This is the second year of this exciting award, created in partnership with in the Institute of Medical Illustrators (UK).
