Opening Reception

Come introduce yourself, mingle, and prepare for an awesome three days in Providence. Join friends and colleagues for this casual reception at McCormick & Schmicks, the renowned restaurant and bar adjacent to the Biltmore Hotel. We have secured a charming private room, conveniently located near the cash bar.
Gaming for Team Building
Thursday, June 21 (7 – 10pm, includes dinner, additional fee applies)
Join us on Thursday evening for this exciting networking event, a chance to get those competitive juices flowing in a genuinely fun and collegial atmosphere. We’re headed to Dave & Busters (just a short walk from the hotel) for dinner, drinks, and a team building challenge. Can your team score in this series of interactive games focusing on organization and leadership? Join us and find out!
Following an afternoon of either the walking tour or workshops, you will welcome this opportunity to unwind, eat dinner, and be with friends new and old.
Reception and Annual Auction
Friday, June 22 (5 – 7pm)
Nibble on hors d’oeuvres while perusing the unique auction items you may bid on to support HeSCA activities. This is always one of the most enjoyable events at a HeSCA meeting. You’ll find things here you never dreamed of while you continue to build your professional network. So bring your checkbook or credit card, join your friends and colleagues, and have fun!

Friday evening is free to explore Providence at night. Providence is known for its outstanding restaurants. So, after the auction if you’d like to get away by yourself, or with a small group of friends, this is the night!
Reception, Banquet and Awards Ceremony
Saturday, June 23 (7 – 10:30 pm)
The crowing jewel of our meeting, the Media Festival Awards Banquet will be held in a stunning room at the Biltmore offering a gorgeous view of Providence. This is an opportunity to see glimpses of our colleagues’ work as the best of the best are recognized during this annual event.
Note: One Banquet ticket is included with your full conference registration. Guest tickets are available.
Waterfire
Saturday, June 23 (10 pm – 1 am)
After you’ve congratulated the award winners, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy Waterfire – Providence’s unique and powerful work of live art. Over eighty sparkling bonfires, torch-lit vessels traveling the river, and enchanting music from around the world will engage your senses as you experience “the place where water and fire meet”.
Then head to the TD Bank Ballroom for a night of music and dancing.
