HeSCA’s 2014 Conference
March 27 – 29, San Francisco

.

Please join us in closing the books and celebrating the life of HeSCA as we meet for the final time in San Francisco, California at the Hotel Monaco on March 27 – 29, 2014!

More than fifty years ago, the Health and Science Communications Association was founded “to provide a means whereby exchange of information and the resources of a variety of institutions could be focused on the use of television in the health sciences.”

The mission of the association evolved to “advance an international community of professionals dedicated to promoting excellence in health and science communications through leadership, education, and the application of technology.” And indeed, the association advanced and enriched the professional and personal lives of many of us over the years. Networks were built, knowledge was shared and friendships were forged. At times, many of us felt like part of a large, loving family.

Professional cultures change… and sadly, the entity that has given so much to so many of us is no longer sustainable. So with heavy hearts we are forced to close operations of HeSCA.

Below, please find a preliminary program for our upcoming conference.  It consists of morning sessions on Friday and Saturday, a final Business Meeting, and an off-site celebration event. ALL attendees will be asked to give a 5 – 15  minute presentation.  It can be about a particularly interesting project or accomplishment… or just an update on what’s happening in your professional or personal life.  Of course there will be opportunities for networking and fun along the way as we give our beloved organization a proper sendoff!
